Miller High Life

The Champagne of Beers (in a can).

I can say with great certainty that if you've come to this blog looking for the answer to the question: should I buy High Life or Bud Select? We have your answer.

Miller High Life, in my opinion, is far from what I would describe as "good". It's a little more skunky than Miller Lite, as far as I recall. However, when compared to Bud Select, it is Ambrosia.

Is watery, albeit smooth. It's totally drinkable - especially after 2. I'd say it's a 5/10. See, the ratings begin.

Budweiser Select

Budweiser Select.

Hmmm... King of Beers. I've never been a big Bud guy, usually preferring it's arch-nemesis Miller. That is probably rooted in my Wisconsin upbringing, but regardless, I generally prefer the taste of Miller.

Bud Select is no exception to this preference. I don't like it. It's only recent beer-can challenger on my palate was the High Life from last week, which I'll review later.

Basically this tastes like Bud to me, full strength, high octane Budweiser. I actually feel like I'd prefer Bud Lite to this. Hopefully as I drink more cans of other things I'll be able to describe it better.

Here We Are!

The purpose of this blog is to record my thoughts on canned beer drinking. I will enlist the help of my friends to also comment on the cans.

Who: Me. Bill. Clay. Comments can come from the world though, if they ever find this.

Methodology: I shall drink some canned beers, try to take or find a picture of it, and describe it. Maybe after some discussion we'll come up with a fancy rating system.

About my drinking tastes: I'm not a big beer snob. I like most things, but generally prefer bottles and draft to cans. When I'm at a bar I drink either Stella, Amstel Light or Miller Lite. On occasion i'll get suckered into an IPA - which I find delicious - but I can only drink a couple without hangover problems.

Why: The fridge at work fits cans much better than bottles. So, let's have some fun with it.
